Hospitalization & Surgery
In addition to outpatient surgery centers, our surgeons have privileges at Montgomery General, Shady Grove Adventist and Frederick Memorial Hospitals. When surgery or hospitalization is necessary, we will endeavor to do so at the most convenient facility for the patient. We would like to emphasize that we are rather conservative and do not recommend surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. Our use of endovascular treatments allows us to treat many vascular problems with non operative methods.
In an effort to minimize healthcare costs, many insurance plans including Medicare require patients to arrive at the hospital on the day of scheduled surgery and leave as soon as possible. Although we have little control over such policies of the hospitals and insurance carriers, you can rest assured that we will not discharge our patients until it is medically appropriate.
One of our doctors sees our patients at least once a day while they are in the hospital. If home care is needed after surgery, our staff will be happy to recommend a reliable and dependable source.
