Vein Disorders

We provide our patients with effective treatment for the removal of varicose and spider veins, and other vein conditions. Rest assured that we will stay abreast of the very latest technology in order to provide you with the highest quality of care.

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are blood vessels which have become dilated, twisted, and swollen and primarily affect the legs. Hundreds of thousands of people suffer from this unsightly and painful vascular disorder. These unsightly and frequently painful formations occur when blood vessels become weak and malfunction. Many times, blood can no longer flow easily against gravity due to a weakening of the valves inside the veins, a condition known as venous insufficiency.

Spider Veins

Spider veins are small clusters of red or blue veins near the surface of the skin, usually found on the legs and face. They can be spider-shaped, branch-shaped, or appear as thin, short jagged lines. The causes of spider veins include venous insufficiency, heredity, pregnancy (hormones sometimes cause poor blood circulation) and prolonged sitting or standing.

Treatment

At Horizon Vascular Specialists, we offer the very best methods and latest technology to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Our experienced doctors and support staff will help patients determine which treatment option is most appropriate for their medical needs.

For varicose veins, Radiofrequency ablation (VNUS Closure), ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy and vein removal are among the most popular treatments. These treatments are minimally invasive and deliver outstanding results.

Spider vein treatment is typically handled using sclerotherapy. A chemical is injected into the spider veins with a very small needle causing the veins to disappear.
