About Our Doctors
Each of our doctors is Board Certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery. All are Fellows in the American College of Surgeons and belong to local and national vascular societies. They attend numerous continuing medical education courses each year to keep up with the latest medical findings and surgical techniques, including endovascular methods.
Michael D. Sulkin, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Michael Sulkin received his undergraduate training at the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. His surgical training was at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He received training in renal transplantation. After two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he entered private practice.
Dr. Sulkin is the founder of Horizon Vascular Specialists with special interests in endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and minimally invasive vein treatments.
Robert L. Fox, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Robert Fox received his undergraduate training at Yale University and his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School. His general surgical training was at the Washington Hospital Center followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at Englewood, New Jersey.
Dr. Fox joined Horizon Vascular Specialists in 1984. His special interests are vascular surgery, including endovascular procedures. Dr. Fox is medical director of our vascular laboratory. He is also a registered vascular technologist and a member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Richard A. Silva, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Richard Silva received his undergraduate degree from SUNY at Binghamton, New York, and his medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo, New York. His general surgical training was at the Medical College of Virginia where he also completed a fellowship in vascular surgery.
Dr. Silva joined Horizon Vascular Specialists in 1998. He has special expertise in open procedures and endovascular methods.
Shan-e-Ali Haider, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Shan-e-Ali Haider received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester. He obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his general surgery training at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Haider completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at the University of Pittsburgh where he received extensive training in endovascular techniques. He has special interest in the treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms as well as carotid disease.
Jeffrey Y. Wang, M.D.
Jeffrey Y. Wang, M.D. is a native of Montgomery County, Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Virginia. He attended medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California.
Dr. Wang completed a general surgery residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Wang finished a vascular surgery and endovascular fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He has special interest in endovascular treatment of vascular disease.
