Vein Treatments
Radiofrequency Ablation (VNUS Closure)
Vein reflux is treated by the new non-surgical VNUS Closure procedure, performed using local anesthesia guided by images on the duplex ultrasound equipment. The VNUS Closure procedure is a clinically proven, minimally invasive procedure that treats varicose veins and their underlying cause, venous reflux, without the trauma of conventional vein stripping. This is done in our offices under local anesthesia. Patients can drive themselves to the treatment and drive themselves home following it.
Recovery is minimal with most patients returning to work the day after the procedure.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a very effective, well proven medical procedure, in use for over 80 years. Sclerotherapy is used to treat varicose veins and spider veins and involves injecting a solution directly into the spider vein. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel, causing it to sticks together and fade away.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory phlebectomy is a procedure used to remove veins that cannot be treated with VNUS Closure or sclerotherapy. In this procedure, tiny puncture holes are placed into the skin. The vein is then hooked and pulled out through the small openings, one section at a time.
Phlebectomy is an outpatient treatment, usually done in our office, and only requires a local anesthetic. The good news is you can return to normal activity the next day and strenuous exercise in two to three weeks.
At Horizon Surgical Group, we offer the very best methods and latest technology to treat vein problems. We help patients determine which treatment option is most appropriate for their specific medical needs.
